Drug Effects Methylone and Mephedrone

Time for a break from the non-stop drug reports and I am still 5 experiences behind.

Before I started researching, what I wanted but could never find was a detailed list of effects of various drugs and what to expect after taking them. Certain things are available, but these are mostly just list of possible effects and I found that very hard to relate to. To try to address this I have just written a couple of first time guides of what to expect, I would hope this would be particularly useful for a complete first timer, as this is the most anxious and worried that a prospective researcher will ever be. I will start with one my current favourites, Methylone and then move on to a chemical that is currently very de rigueur at the moment in London Mephedrone, both are have there similarities to MDMA and Mephedrone is often compared to a mix between coke and MDMA.

Methylone Effects:

Upon dosing on an empty stomach, after about 10 - 20 minutes except to feel, what people describe as "coming-up", this includes some many or all of the following feelings:

Warm pleasant and if it is your first time, unusual feelings which are seemingly starting from your chest and or belly area, this can spread out from there to encompass all of your body, giving you what can only be described as, "the tingles", this is often particularly noticeable in your legs.

After a little longer perhaps 30 - 60 minutes these feeling will start to be superseded, by the main effects:

A large mood lift, feeling of well-being love and empathy, the warmth that you were feeling in the "coming-up" phase, is now more intense, and can sometimes be almost overwhelming, sometimes if you are lucky coming over you in waves. This is literately an unbelievable sense of bliss and excitement and oneness with your surroundings, if you are with someone you who you share feelings for, you will both feel that you are sharing an almost telepathic bound with that person. After the peak which may last anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes, you will notice the effects start to subside, although you should not be abandoned by the substance, coming slowly back to earth over the next 90 minutes or so, with the warm feelings still noticeable for the vast majority of this time. This is when most people would re-dose, I do not recommend this, as it does not seem to work, or it only works a little.

Methylone Dosage:

Difficult to say, this varies massively from person to person, for some people 180mg others myself included need 400mg, these figures are for bombing ie, (wrap in a rizla and swallow).

Mephedrone Effects:

After a little longer perhaps 30 - 60 minutes these feeling will start to be superseded, by the main effects:

Very alert, stimulated and full of energy, social skills increased off the chart, although not in so much as ego increasing way as coke, sexual arousal for some and some or lots of euphoria, this seems to vary quite a lot person to person, definite and major increase in appreciation to music, the rhythm will certainly get you. After the peak which may last anywhere between 90 - 120 minutes, you will notice the effects start to subside, particularly any euphoria the stimulation will almost certainly remain the longest. This is when most people would re-dose, to do so once seems to be always okay, re-dose the same amount and you will be back to where you were before, a second re-dose, now you are pushing it you will not quite be back to where you were before but nearly, by this time you would have been flying for at least 6 hours, for the love of god, STOP

Mephedrone Dosage:

Somewhere between 150 - 250mg these figures are for bombing ie, (wrap in a rizla and swallow).

Side Effects:

Either or the above can produce side effects, but for MOST people these are minor and worth the high, if common sense was applied with the initial dosing, these can include:

Minor (expect one of these):

Chewing/grinding teeth (bruxism)

Eye wiggles (nystagmus)

Mild paranoia

Major (expect one or more of these if you have been abusing it, or you are particularly sensitive to the substance):

Serve paranoia & anxiety

Temperature hypersensitivity

Blue hands and or knees

Psychosis

Research @ Home 17 October 2009

This was my first ever research @ home night and it proved to be a very rewarding and puzzling night, rewarding because this was the first time that Topcat ever took part in the research, and puzzling because of the strange experience I had where I came back up again after taking ketamine, very odd, I still do not have a satisfactory explanation for that one.

Total Dose: 400mg Butylone, 50mg Mephedrone, 75mg Ketamine

Route of ingestion: Oral, insufflated

Main effects: Music appreciation, empathy, euphoria, would not shut up

Side effects : Some jaw tension, sweating, temperature fluctuations, bowel moments, nice.

Research @ Home 17 October 2009:

Introduction

The evening started with and quiet night in for NME, Topcat and myself, it was always a possibility that NME and myself would do some cheeky research, it was a nice surprise that Topcat joined in the research also, it was not planned that she would which I think made it all the better. As I don't need to tell anyone who has experience of this, but the next best thing to your first time, watching someone else experience their first time, especially if that is someone you love.

Saturday

21.00

Parachuted 300mg of Butylone, NME parachuted 300mg of Methylone and Topcat parachuted 250mg of Methylone. We all start to play cards whilst we wait in anticipation for the effects to start.

21.20

Both NME and Topcat report feelings of warmth from withing their bellies and general well being, NME as an experienced researcher says he is definitely "coming-up"

21.30

Both NME and Topcat report more of the same feelings, Topcat getting very flushed and excited, she will not shut up, but not in a bad way, she is however paranoid that she is talking too much, to be fair no one else can get a bloody word in.

21.45

I seem to be late to join the party, I have absolutely nothing, unless you count my urgent trip to the toilet 20 minutes ago, yep that was the highlight for me, you are lucky I never took a picture.

22.00

Whilst team empathy, carry on about how good this stuff is, and can wait no longer, and to be fair I have had this before but on Methylone, when I did not come-up on 300mg. I therefore get the straw out a snuffle, a further 100mg of Butylone.

22.10

Oh yes I have now joined the party, I am getting the start of a rushes of euphoria and empathy

22.10 - 23.00

We continue to play cards, even have a little dance, Topcat complains she is not really "feeling" the music.

23.00

We all have a little bump of Mephedrone, approx 50mg each to see if these helps Topcat "feel" the music a little and also because, well any excuse really.

23.15

No one has felt anything extra from the Mephedrone, we wisely decide not to chase this one.

We are all pretty much baseline, probably a little stimulated, but none of the previous rushes and warmth. This we decide will be a good time to try some Ketamine, this is turning into a big first night experience for Topcat, not one or even two substances for a first time but three.

We all have some Ketamine, NME and myself insufflate 75mg whilst Topcat does 20mg

I am feeling the effects of the Ketamine, when I move my head from side to side, the images can not quite re-map quickly enough, like a cheap plasma very entertaining. NME has gone into his own world and Topcat is experiencing threshold effects, maybe a little judder.

This is when the weird thing starts, about this time I start to come-up again, I am not getting mad rushes or euphoria but nonetheless definitely coming back up, I start to get very talkative, even Topcat can not get a word in.

I am buzzing, happy chatty having a great time, NME is coming out of his interest in his fingers, we decide to call it a night. We all go to bed.

02.00 - 04.00

Topcat and I talk for all this time, well when I say Topcat and I, it was really just me, we get to the bottom of many issues that have been nagging at our relationship for quite sometime.

04.00- 06.00

I can not sleep still thinking about will likely become a life changing night, so much going though my head I just can not relax, just too excited, the drugs have worn off, however I am like a kid before Christmas.

Debriefing

A night with no sleep, but a night with no sleep has never been more worth it.
